Hans Zimmer, like all good film composers, steals from the best in his score for Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Well, he stole some of his melodies from Klaus Bedelt’s earlier score for the first Pirates movie, but then again, Bedelt probably stole his stuff from the best as well.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 is about as good of a summer movie that we so badly need. When I say badly, I mean…Mission Impossible, Poseidon, X3, and then Superman. Whatever merits those movies had, it was not bringing something so awesomely conceived as a man with a tentacle beard that plays organ.
