Howard Who?

Inara George is a local singer songwriter who has been making some waves in the music world. She often performs around town, sometimes with her producer and general music everyman Mike Andrews.

She was a member of Merrick before coming out with her solo album about a year and a half ago. My first exposure to her was hearing Fools Work on Morning Becomes Eclectic, but it was with Merrick at the time. It totally haunted me…I mean I still remember listening to it as opposed to most of the songs that fade. Here was something harmonically adventurous, rich with sonic detail, and featuring Inara’s hypnotic voice. I was an instant fan.

These days, she is collaborating with another songwriter, Greg Kurstin. Their collective efforts are being called The Bird and the Bee with an album coming out later this year. It continues her signature sound, but this time with an influx of electro. Inara has won my heart, and she’ll win yours too.
