Clint Mansell has got a Golden Globe nomination. Congrats to him…hopefully en route to the Oscars. It goes a long way towards validating what we already knew, that electronic and pop music can work as narrative non-song music.

Mike Andrews scored the recent Christmas movie Unaccompanied Minors. I don’t know if that means it’s a rock score. Anyone?
Spoon scores the current movie Stranger Than Fiction. Haven’t seen it yet, but even the trailer made a point of using “That’s The Way We Get By.” Britt Daniel and Brian Reitzell wrote some non-song music for the movie. This may be the only reason I want to see what seems like a mediocre though possibly amusing Kaufmaneque romp.
