Street Minimalism
I love minimalism especially when it comes from places that I do not expect.
Case in point, a street musician in San Diego rocks 5th Ave. with sounds that are very reminiscent of Steve Reich’s Electric Counterpoint and U2. It is beautiful to me that something that sounds this fascinating comes from the guitar amp of a guy who plays across from loud, obnoxious clubs at night for a living. It is as if I came across graffiti that resembled Picasso or something “high.”
If anything, it show me that minimalism is not some elitist concept or sound but something that can exist with drunken people dancing around.
But don’t take my word for it…

This is really good. I wish I could hear more.

You’re absolutely right about the San Diego street musician, sign the guy up. He deserves to be heard.
