Dudamel on 60 Minutes

Dudamel

If you didn’t catch it (like myself), you can watch it on Yahoo! here.

I had the Dudamel hot dog at Pink’s the other day. It’s pretty wild. You have guacamole, jalapenos, and some tortilla chips sticking right up out of the dog itself. Go try it!
After seeing those clips of Dudamel, a chill went down my spine. This guy seems almost oblivious to the world and is so focused and passionate.

In the Esa Pekka Salonen video of “La Mer” (which you can get on Netflix), LA Phil godfather Ernest Fleischmann calls Salonen a world-class person. Keep in mind that he could have said world-class musician or conductor or whatever. But it was the qualities of his personality, character, passion that really stood out. Likewise By Contrast, I’m sure you know some great great musicians who are perhaps not the most gracious people.

Well, Dudamel is a world-class person. I can’t wait to see him conduct Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique.
